About StoneCalc

StoneCalc calculates how much concrete, gravel, mulch, sand, topsoil, asphalt, pavers, or brick a project actually needs, in the units you'd actually order in -- cubic yards, tons, or bags -- not just a raw volume number.

Where the numbers come from

Volume calculations use standard length × width × depth geometry. Weight estimates use published, widely-cited trade density figures for each material (see each calculator's FAQ for the specific number used). Paver and brick counts use standard per-unit coverage rates cited across masonry and hardscaping trade references. None of this is original research or a lab measurement -- it's the same math and rule-of-thumb figures contractors use for planning.

What this site doesn't do

It doesn't store what you enter, require an account, or replace a real quote from a supplier or contractor. Real material weight and coverage vary by exact product, moisture content, and site conditions -- treat every number here as a solid planning estimate, not an exact figure to build a contract around.
