StoneCalc

Free construction and landscaping material calculators -- real cubic yards, tons, and bags for concrete, gravel, mulch, sand, topsoil, pavers, brick, and asphalt.

Every calculator here starts from your real dimensions -- length, width, depth -- and converts the result straight into what you'd actually order: cubic yards, tons, or bags. No generic "how much do I need" guessing, and no account required.

Volume-based materials (concrete, gravel, mulch, sand, topsoil, asphalt) use the same length × width × depth math contractors use for estimating. Pavers and brick use real per-unit coverage rates instead, since those are counted in pieces, not poured or spread.

Material Calculators

Concrete Calculator

Calculate how many cubic yards of concrete -- or how many 60lb/80lb bags -- you need for a slab, footing, or pour.

Gravel Calculator

Calculate cubic yards and tons of gravel for a driveway, path, or drainage base, from your real dimensions.

Mulch Calculator

Calculate cubic yards or bags of mulch for a garden bed or landscaping project, based on real coverage depth.

Sand Calculator

Calculate cubic yards and tons of sand for a paver base, play area, or fill project.

Topsoil Calculator

Calculate cubic yards, tons, or bags of topsoil for a lawn, garden bed, or grading project.

Asphalt Calculator

Calculate tons of hot mix asphalt needed for a driveway or parking area, from your real dimensions.

Paver Calculator

Calculate how many pavers you need for a patio or walkway, plus the gravel base and sand setting bed underneath.

Brick Calculator

Calculate how many bricks -- and how much mortar -- you need for a wall or veneer project, from real wall dimensions.

Tile Calculator

Calculate how many tiles and boxes you need for a floor, wall, or shower, from area, tile size, grout joint width, and waste.

Grout Calculator

Calculate how many pounds -- or bags -- of grout you need for a tile job, from tile size, joint width and depth, and area.

Shingle Calculator

Calculate roofing squares and shingle bundles needed for a roof, from your real roof surface area.

Footing Calculator

Calculate cubic yards and bags of concrete for continuous strip footings or round pier footings, from real dimensions.

Drywall Mud Calculator

Calculate gallons, pounds, and buckets of joint compound for a drywall job, plus joint tape and screws, from the square footage.

Rebar Calculator

Calculate linear feet and weight of rebar needed for a slab, from your real dimensions, grid spacing, and bar size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these calculators accurate?

They use standard, published trade formulas and rule-of-thumb material densities, not original research or lab measurements -- the same figures contractors use for planning. Real material weight and coverage vary by exact product and moisture content, so treat the numbers as solid planning estimates, and buy a little extra as standard trade advice.

Why cubic yards instead of cubic feet?

Bulk materials (concrete, gravel, mulch, sand, topsoil, asphalt) are almost always sold and delivered by the cubic yard, so that's the number that actually matters when you're ordering -- this site shows cubic feet too, but cubic yards is the headline figure.
